How do I find an organization that can help pay for preschool?

My husband and I are a low income family. We were told we are 2pts away from the poverty level. We are strugling to keep our 4yr old son in preschool. I asked my case worker if anybody can help us with school she said no because we don't qualify for emergency cash assistance. So now we have an $800 preschool bill that we can't pay. Contact the Head Start or Early Head Start agency serving your community. See if you qualify for a government subsidy.  I honestly don't know what little income you have to have to qualify from state to state but you should check into it.  Also, I don't think they can help you with the bill you already have, but they may be able to help with future bills.  You do have to enroll your child in a center that accepts subsidies (not all do).  You may want to talk to the director or owner of the one your child is attending now.

Check and see if you have Catholic Charities in your area.

There is sometimes a waiting list, but they usually have childcare assistance. Also I don't know if you work, but if you are looking for a job, some workforce organizations like unemployment agencies offer childcare assistance. Good luck.
