How do I find basic info about different businesses around the country besides the BBB website?

My work is having me find as much info about a list of businesses around the country. Mainly the business name, address, phone number, and owner. Most of the businesses don't show up on a BBB search. Where else can I find this info? Thanks!

Most public libraries have databases that you can access that can provide you  with a wealth of information.  Visit the website for your local public library.  Also, go in person or call the  reference  desk of the public library in your  neighborhood.
