    Free and easy to use- They are auction homes so you need a good amount of cash on hand....

    Lots of them won't pass a traditional mortgage.

    We got a HUD mortgage on one but it's a pain because they control the repairs you make.

    These are bank owned homes that basically won't sell on the regular market due to damage and being dirty.  House are listed for 30-90 days on the regular market and if they don't sell they go to places like this which are auction houses.  All house have clear titles which is good!  But like I said- it's very hard to get a mortage on these types of homes, most people bought cash when we were at the live auction.


  2. They all charge a fee.  You can get the info for free.  The Assessor's Office (Cook COunty) let's you search for a specific address.  If you don't care about one specific property, the Recorder's Office has all the foreclosures . They are very nice and the computers are on the front desk so you can find them.  If they are online you will save a trip.

    Remember that the foreclosure sale requires that you pay cash.  No loans. That's why so few people buy them.
