How do I find job opportunities in aerial firefighting?

  2. I spent 4 years in the business and most aerial firefighting is done by private contractor's, not by the Forest Service. You'll need to contact these contractors and find out their hiring requirements.

    Having been in the business, I can tell you that most people who are hired get the job through a personal recommendation from someone in the business. You also need a fair amount of experience in low level and / or mountain flying. Once you have experience in the business it is easier to find work with other contractors.

  3. Before the wildfire season starts, I usually see jobs posted on various job websites. I think they may already be staffed for this season..

  4. I don´t know, but don´t light a wildfire to increase demand on the job market!!
