I don't know if i should post my DNS, but it is (according to who.is) a charter.com IP. I need it to set up networking in Windows 95 (Right now I'm using 2000). When I go into my windows 2000 settings, it doesn't say anything for a host.

  1. open a command prompt and type"

    nslookup charter.com

It should reply with an IP address.

    Cheers

  2. Assuming that your windows 95 machine is connected through a router, you should be able to set it up to use DHCP.

If you must have static info, your DNS server will be your routers IP address. Ie.. 192.168.0.1 or something.

If you need your ISP's DNS, you can log into your router and find the information there.

  3. On the PC you're using to connec to the internet (2000) go to  Command Prompt and type IPCONFIG /ALL

Press Enter and you will see some information appear. The address you're looking for will be listed under DNS Servers.
