  1. Call your city clerk's office and ask them for the council member that represents your district.

  2. you can just type in your zip code at http://www.congress.org/ and you will find a list of your local congress representatives.

  3. Most council websites have a list of councillers with an email address

  4. your local council will have a website...& they will be listed on that.  do a google search maybe to find the address.

    p.s. oh crikey...i'm on the American site aren't i?? - oops!!

  5. Different communities structure their city councils in different ways.  Generally the community is divided into wards or districts.  The number of these wards (or districts) will vary based on a number of factors which are usually established by State law and are comprised of such things as population.

For example, my community has a population of about 69,000 and has 7 council members plus a mayor.  Five of these council members each represent a single ward and the remaining two are at large each representing the entire community.  In such a community I actually have three direct city council members who represent me plus the mayor.

The first thing for you to do is to contact your city clerk and find out what type of community structure you have.  You may be able to find out what that structure is on the WEB if your community has a WEB site.  There too it is likely that your council representatives will be obtainable.
