I'm trying to avoid buying 3/8" thick color acrylic for a mass production. 1/2" clear with 1/4" color, glued together might be less expensive. Finding someone to do the glueing is proving to be difficult.

  1. If it's something on a small scale (not mass-produced). Craft spray glue (or for clairty, vellum spray glue) does a nice thin layer of glue that will seal two sheets.

Just be sure to protect your backdrop with newspapers and possibly wear gloves.

  2. The first answer is a good one but if you have to glue two sheets together and you want a strong bond try the crystal clear cement that watchmakers use to glue on plastic watch crystals and also the bubble-like magnifiers that go on glass watch crystals above the date window.

    Check out:  ofrei.com

                       julesborel.com

                       esslinger.com

These are my main suppliers but you may find others with a search for watch supplies.

  3. Why don't you just get a piece of 1/2" acrylic?
