Question:

How do I find out Building Codes in Lexington KY

I'm adding a deck to my house, and all the advice articles say "check local building codes". So I've googled, and yahooed, and searched on-line, but I can't find the Lexington KY building codes for wooden decks anywhere. Is there any way to find building codes that DOESN'T involve paying a contractor or calling a governement office (which is one of the punishments in the inner circles of h**l, IMO)?

  1. They are not free and they don't kill you for calling them.

Seems like the book was about $60 in MI.

You should find out so you don't build a deck that falls down and hurst someone.

Sine you need a building permit you should just call and ask them.

I'm sure you found this link, but you should call so you stay out of trouble.

  2. Contact local code enforcement.  Also check your deed of restrictions and homeowner association restrictions.  Finally, don't forget your building permit.
