How do I find out a percentage change from one cell to another?

I am using Good Docs if it makes a difference, but I'm pretty sure it works like any other spread sheet.

I need to, 1) Find the percentage change from one cell to another and 2) find the numerical change from one cell to another.

Thank you.

  1. huh?

    numerical change is subtract

percent change is divide (use format to change to percent)

if you need more details, if you have numbers in A1 and B1 and want the result in C1, put this formula in C1

    for percent A1 is of B1: =A1/B1

set format of C1 to percent

    for change: =A1-B1

    .... or =B1-A1

  2. Percent change from A1 to B1

In excel, it'd be  =(A1-B1)/A1  (change over the original)

Numerical change from A1 to B1

    =A1-B1
