How do I find out about AA meetings?

I want to get sober.

I want to live my life again.

I have a list of meeting places but no way to get there (I don't drive)

And I don't understand what does open, closed, traditional meetings mean?

Does recovering mean I can never drink again?

Take the bus, or call and maybe someone will give you a ride.

You want an open meeting.

I quit drinking 10 years ago and I wish you luck.  I've found that for me it is really best not to drink at all, and frankly I don't miss it.

AA is a good place for some, but not others.  If you try it and don't care for it, or if you want to look at some other options, I strongly recommend smart recovery, which you can access online here:
