What do I need to know? How long is the term? Where should I start (besides here)?

  1. Look at your town's website.  Contact your local government (town hall) or contact the board of elections.  You usually need a petition signed.  If you're affiliated with a party, they can assist with the process and you should contact them.  These numbers should be in your phone book  (usually right in the front under local government).  Good luck!!

  2. Unless you are trying to oust the current Mayor, I'd give the Mayor a call and set up a personal interview.  I'm sure he or she would be delighted to give you a jump start and clue you in on what exactly your obligations would be.  I'm sure you could get some info from Google or Yahoo search engines too.

  3. Ask PHIL DIRTBOX  he was candidate for London, alas he lost to the s**y, charismatic, erudite, handsome Boris he only gained 2 votes, but he would tell you the procedure,
