How do I find out if a remodeling company has a business license?

How do I find out if a remodeling company even has a business license? My husband worked for a place called Moszer Bros. LLC here in Saint Louis for a few months. Every paycheck was short and they never offered insurance as he was promised upon hire. They lost all their investors because they spent material money on their own personal things such as rent, car payments, going out..etc. They have now posted an ad on craigslist looking for more employees. They still owe my husband over $300. A friend of ours also worked for them and they owe him money as well.

Is there a website that I can do a search on to find out if they have obtained a business license? They let it slip after he started working for them that they did not. I need proof of that.

Call local town hall

My advice would be call the labor and wage board. You can also go to the court house or city hall and inquire to see a license for a certain business. If I'm not mistaken since there a contracting business they would most likely be willing to show you a license. Call and see if there listed with the BBB as well.
