  1. Astrology question ( and ANSWERS) are OFF TOPIC for the Astronomy section.

  2. A person has one sun sign only based on their date of birth,

    Aries (3/21–4/19)

    Leo ( 7/23–8/22)

    Sagittarius (11/22–12/21)

    Taurus (4/20–5/20)

    Virgo (8/23–9/22)

    Capricorn (12/22–1/19)

    Gemini (5/21–6/21)

    Libra (9/23–10/22)

    Aquarius (1/20–2/18)

    Cancer (6/22–7/22)

    Scorpio (10/23–11/2)

    Pisces (2/19–3/20)

  3. Your Sun sign is supposed to be the constellation that the Sun is in when you were born.  This should be the same as your Zodiac sign. So you should be able to download a free planetarium program, set the date to your birthday, tell it to search for the Sun, and see what constellation surrounds it.

So i was born on January 24th.  That would be Aquarius.  But if i do the exercise with the planetarium program, the Sun is smack dab in the middle of Capricorn.  What's the deal?  Well, in the past thousand years or so, the Earth's axis has shifted.  But astrology has not shifted.

It doesn't really matter for astrology, since the predictions have essentially nothing to do with you.  I'm afraid it's too late to fix the problem because what are they going to do?  Do they say that astrological predictions for the past millennium have been wrong? That will go over big.

I'm not very hostile to astrology.  Astronomy has it's roots there.  And figuring out what constellation the Sun is in was difficult 2000 years ago.  It's not like you could look up and see it.  You had to map the whole sky and figure out what coordinates the Sun was in by looking at something else.  These astrologers were responsible for some very cool mapping and math.  And besides, if your horoscope says you should be careful with money (for example), maybe an audit wouldn't hurt after all.  And if the second opposition of Saturn is in the sky, maybe you are old enough for a mid life crisis.

  4. flip a coin. that will give you as meaningful an answer as anything else in astrology.

  5. Think your sun sign is Pisces, but your birthday does fall on a cusp, that is 3 days before or 3 days after your "sign", it's almost between "signs".  So you would "share" the sun with the other sign that comes before Pisces (20 Feb-20 Mar), which is Aquarius (20 Jan- 19 Feb).  The dates differ with each person making the prediction, or doing the charts for the signs of the Zodiac.  It is best if you go to a professional astrologist.  Then you would definitely know, but then maybe not, cause the person you go to could not be able to tell you whether, or not, your sun sign falls within which date.

  6. I hope these websites help you, I was under the impression that sun signs and star signs were the same.

  7. This is the astronomy section! Take your astrological nonsense elsewhere!

  8. This is the astronomy (science) section.  You want astrology (bullshit) under Entertainment.

  9. Pisces is your Sun sign. Your "sign" refers to your sun sign.

  10. I suggest http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_sign

And this is really a question about astrology, as opposed to astronomy, so you might find more answers if you post to religion and spirituality.

  11. http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/dir/;_ylt=Al... this is a link to the Horoscope category where you might find the answers your looking for, this is astronomy & space, your thinking astrology not astronomy.
