  1. They are called baby brokers. It seems a lot of them in the US were people looking to adopt at one time or another or are in some way affiliated with a church.

  2. Jennifer L is on to something. Agencies DO need office staff, someone to answer the phone, so when an adoptee calls to find out who their Mom is you can look in all of those files that you've been stashing away and be the one to give them them their Mom's name! And wouldn't it be great to be the one to reunite a mother and child separated for 20, 30, 40 years!

  3. I don't know your age or education level, but it's generally appropriate for adoption counselors of any flavor to hold a bachelor's degree or master's degree in social work.

Many adoption agencies also need office staff, someone to answer phones, file papers, send out information packets, manage the website and general office manager stuff.

The agency we went through is staffed primarily by volunteers for the office type work.

    Best of luck.
