How do I find out the price paid for new construction purchases?

There is a brand new building in my neighborhood and the builder has sold a few units already. I have heard they went below asking but I dont know by how much. Is there anyway to find out what they sold for? Thank you!

  1. Your realtor should be able to get the price for them (assuming the realtor will tell you).

    You could get a realtor's license (pretty easy to get, at least in my state)

    You also might be able to look up the information in the appraisal district's records. I think you can request access to that information by going down to their office. The laws may vary in your state, but they should give you access to that information.


  2. My answer is;

    It is a public record. Go to your county seat, there you can ask and they can get you that info. Or a realtor can look it up as they have access to that info.

  3. Ask your realtor they will have that information.

  4. The realtor may know, but possibly not if these sales were not put on the MLS (and for brand new stuff I'll bet they were not put there).  If your realtor does not know you can check the tax record, but again you may not get the answer here as the tax records sometimes take up to a few months (6-8 months in one county near me) to be updated.  If both these fail I'd just go knock on the doors of the sold places and ask the people what they paid.  With this last option you can get lots of other good info too like strategies for bidding and how well they like the place so far.
