How do I find out what the water is treated with at the San Geronimo Valley plant in Calif.?

    They use chloramines, looks like, and since they claim no Crypto or Giardia that's probably all they use.  Free chlorine perhaps, but it's not much different from chloramines in the end.


  2. The state water quality dept should have records that could help. All effluents (outgoing waters) from the plant should be tested and if it's a municipal facility all records are public (usually.)  I'm not sure what that plant is or does so I'm not sure.

  3. You could go to the water treatment plant, go into the office, and ask, politely, how the water is treated. Technicians and operators often are happy to explain how things work, and the facility may even have a brochure about it.
