  1. Request your free credit reports through annualcreditreport.com or call them toll free @ 1-877-322-8228 for all 3 free reports. If there is something you're not aware of on the reports, dispute it immediately.

  2. Be careful-- that call itself could be a scam.

Why are you assuming someone is using your name on a credit card?

If you actually have a card, there might be some other issue that requires you to call them.  But again, do be careful that the call itself is not a scam.  Do not call them back at the number they provided you with.  Whatever card this is from, go to their website and find their customer service number from the website and call that number.

You should also take this opportunity to check your credit reports.  You're entitled to a free credit report from each of the three agencies (Equifax, Experian, Transunion) once a year. You can get your free reports at AnnualCreditReport.com; it's the official website.

Again, although it's common sense, I would like to reiterate.  Do NOT give any personal information (address, credit card number, bank account, SSN, etc) to someone who calls you.  If they're calling you, they should already have your information.  The only time you should be giving that information is if you have looked up the telephone number yourself, on the web or on your credit card statement.

  3. If you have a credit card, the first thing you should do is call your credit card company or bank and tell them you suspect an illegal activity. They should be able to tell you whats going on on your credit card.

You can also request your free annual credit report http://www.badcreditfixup.com/free-credi... that will show you all your accounts and your credit status.
