How do I find person leaving slanderous emails?

I have a business and every time I put my business online (like craigslist), someone either writes bad reviews on purpose or puts up another ad saying my business is really bad, I have lost 3 customers because of it. The police said just to print a copy of the false ads. How do I find out who is doing it? Or how can you trace an email to a computer. It's only one person who keeps doing this to my business. How can I take this person to court for slandering.

actually the term would be libel. Realize that the person doing it is probably about 12 and does that all over the internet when they get home from school. Any legitimate customer takes any libel posts like that with a grain of salt and if they believe it then you did not want them as a customer anyway.

It's pretty much impossible to find out who is posting them without getting Craigslist to tell you who did it.

However, people do have the right to write a bad review if its true.  You may not like it, but if they aren't making up lies than they can write whatever they want.
