How do I find the death records of someone online?

So I use to talk to someone on Yahoo Messanger. One day, he disappeared and never logged back on. After numerous emails and IMs, I was quite upset with him. Later on, his profile is updated to give info on him memorial service (Last I spoke to him, he was in Mexico). I have some information for his parents but can't find the right resources to locate them with the small information I have. How do I find his parents or his death records? Are they available if he died in another country?
