How do I find the solonoid box in my yard?

Question

The sprinkler system in our yard has 6 different zones. 2 of them are not working. I found one green covered box in the yard but cannot find the others. How do I find the these?

On my system all the boxes are just a few inches away from each other.The top of each box most of the time has a plastic top.Take a long s***w driver and probe around the first box and see if you locate..Good Luck..

There is other way than to physically locate the box.  Perhaps you could use a metal detector?  Another thing you can try to do is follow the wires from the controller.  Mabye they travel under the gutter or along the base of the house, mabye even through the basement or crawl space?  Most likely, they'll be located near the remainder of the system.   You can also have someone "locate" wiring with a special device- most landscapers have this troubleshooting skill.  If you were near Santa Cruz, CA, i'd hook-you-up bra
