  1. i agree with the previous answer given but i have to also add that if u want to know if some one has gone into some of ur specific files u can check that out in ur history file which has all recent files opened with the day.

  2. event viewer

    you can search and download 3rd party tool to monitor this

  3. Start-->contral panal-->administrative tool-->event viewer-->system------Arrange the logs by date.

  4. Look at the event viewer, in control panel > administrative tasks.  System events will give you an idea of when the computer has been turned on and off.  Alternatively try to find a free parental controls program for Windows XP.  You can use this to monitor when the computer has been used (i.e. what times it has been turned on and off - or at least when users have logged on and off)

  5. Start>Control Panel>Admin tasks>Event viewer. Check under the security logs they usually have the startup and shutdown events. You can also do Start>Run> and type in Eventvwr.msc

    Another option would be a system management software. Something like Samurize (http://www.samurize.com/modules/news/) works pretty well. If you know programming or VB you can write a little program that writes a txt file on startup and logoff of the computer time.
