How do I find the unlockable items on nintendogs chihuahua and friends?

I have 8000+ trainer points. But the items that I should be able to get I can't find. Like any new toys. How do I get them?

These items can be found in the specialty shop or on walks. Just because you are at the right level o trainer points doesn't make them available to you through the regular item shop. Once you hit the correct level of points, they are possible to acquire but not easy to get=).
