How do I find what the tax assessment ratio is for my house?

Live in PA... assessed for like 45,000... not sure when it was assessed... definately worth more than the 2:1/50%normal assessment ratio that would put it at 90K

  1. I live in Pennsylvania, too, and at least in the county where I live (Allegheny) I don't believe there is a reliable ratio. Some houses that have been recently bought are assessed at just around the purchase price, while others are considerably lower.

    Since it's the assessed value and not the appraised value that your taxes are based on, you just might want to keep paying taxes based on a $45k assessment. They're bound to do a county-wide re-assessment soon enough!
