We do mostly water line and sewer line. We can also do some concrete work. I have some heavy equipment. We're located in central Indiana.

  1. by doing the best work for the best price...by giving a little extra to every customer...

  2. There will be some folks needing help after the recent tornadoes. You might want to consider expanding a bit to include demolition and clearing of damaged sheds and garages.

  3. Touch base with general contractors in your area. Especially public works contractors, and provide them with bids for projects. Construction is 99% networking and word of mouth, so if you specialize in underground or plumbing, you need to get yourself out there and meet the general contractors going after work. As a plumber doing water and sewer with some heavy equipment it sounds like you are geared for new construction. Start looking in the paper and the local government websites (city, county, state) and see what projects are bidding and who the planholders are for those projects. Call up the generals and ask them if they want bids for their projects. It might take a few tries, but when you land one, you bust $#@ and make a good name so companies call you instead. Often generals don't have enough coverage on bid items like plumbing so they'd love to have another bidder for a project, but if you don't solicit them they assume you aren't interested in thier type of work.
