  1. Take a dog in on a leash. He may be able to sniff him out.

  2. put out a can of tuna

he wil surely come to it right away if not start moving stuff see if he's caught somewhere

    imitate a meow

  3. try putting cat nip on the floor or a can of catfood. most cats prefer wet food over dry food. look for him and make whispering noises, you know, "pst pst pst".

  4. Put his food on the TOP step. He'll come out when he gets hungry.

  5. If you just brought him to a new environment he's probably scared and hiding until he feels that he has a feel for his surroundings and he can trust the humans around him. He will come out eventually, and it might be good for him to see that you are willing to be patient and let him adjust at his own pace. I suggest sitting calmly in the basement and talking softly to him for a while to reassure him that you mean him no harm.

  6. Check to see if there's a spot where he could have escaped (cats are great escape artists). If it seems he really is still in there, just leave food out and a clean litter box, he should come around soon.

  7. either in the celing or under furnitures

if you cant find it throw apiee of meat on the floor i'm sure it will show up if its there.

  8. Get food and leave it at the door to the basement, and make sure the area stays quiet, because if he's hiding like that, he's probably very skittish. When he gets hungry, he'll come out.

  9. Cats are great at finding little hidey holes in basements, whether in boxes or a crack in the wall depending on how big he is.  Being neutered doesn't mean he's lost is "cat-ness" - just means he can't impregnate another cat, and that's all - it's not a cure for shyness or anything else other than making him un-mateable....and live longer healthier life.  Make sure you put food and a CLEAN litter box down there (clean it everyday!) - eventually he'll come out of hiding when he's ready to make nice.

  10. ok, get a trap *humane one PLEASE!* and put some really fishy smelling cat food in it and hope it catches the cat, make sure you check the trap every morning when woken up and night before bed and replace the food every morning, if after a week the cat doesn't show up or is smart and took the food escaping the trap then call a friend to help or even animal control or aspca to find it and bring it out of the hiding place.

  11. open a can of tuna and put it in front of the basement door.

  12. leave the lights off in the basement, and go down there with a flashlight.  The light should show the cats eyes, if you shine it on him.  He might even come out, if he's in the dark.  Take some food with you and try to lure him out of his "hidey hole".  He's probably REALLY SCARED !!

If you call your local SPCA, or shelter, they may have a "humane" trap that they'll loan you.....and explain how to use it.

Hope you find him soon..........Good luck.
