The spicket on the cold water for my washing machine is leaking pretty badly. We have teflon tape but no extra spicket and no cash to buy a new one. Anybody got any suggestions? We think the spicket itself might be cracked......HELP!!!!!!

  1. There is an epoxy putty that's used for water leaks. Try your hardware store or Home Depot and tell them what you want it for so that they can give you the right product. It's about $3.00

  2. New valve, bro.  Make your landlord do it.

Cost $10- and you need to turn the main off during your repair.

Mabye the water district will hook you up with some customer service. Tell them you are broke and bed-ridden.

  3. The boiler drain has a brass shaft, that the handle is attached to.  Follow it to the body, and you will find a packing nut.  Gently tighten the packing nut, until the leak stops.  That is, if the body isn't cracked.   FYI:  It is called a spigot, faucet, hose bibb, or a boiler drain.
