I have a nikon LCD camera and it got wet when i went to take pictures at the pool. I don't know how but i took it to the pool before and it got wet but it worked just fine and then i took it to the pool again and it got wet and now when i take pictures it has streaks and it doesn't show up right. I try to air dry it for 24 hr but it didn't work. I put in new batteries and took out the memory card to let it dry and it still didn't work. I don't want to take it to the shop and let them repair it. I want to try to fix it myself and i need help on how to do it. So help please. :)

  1. Hi Kristy.   I know you don't want to hear it, but it is very possible that your camera has shot its last picture.    People don't realize just how delicate these little things are and the smaller the camera,  the more delicate it is.    Inside the case is a small computer and if it gets wet,  the circuitry will fry / short out.  You were just lucky the first time.   There is no remote possibility of fixing the camera yourself as once you open the case and look inside you will be just as confused, frustrated and upset as you are right now.   Don't even try it.    Taking it in to be fixed  will not make you feel any better because of high repair cost.   It is unfortunate but electronics and water, sand, heat, pets, thieves and children do not mix well.

  2. Try a blow dryer at lowheat. Don't get it too hot!!
