The zipper on my pants had gotten separated and the slider is on one side when it should be on both sides all the time. How do I fix a zipper by myself for free?

  1. well its not gonna be free...you can go get a new zipper and take the old one off..and sew the new one on...thats all i know

  2. If you really get lucky then you can get it together by lining it up as best you can grabbing above and below and pulling in opposite directions, and hope because long shot it will work Good luck.

  3. cut some of the teeth off of the other side at the bottom and slide it on and zip it up and take some staples or something and put them where you cut the teeth off so that the zipper won't slide down too far and come off again.

  4. It's really tough to do on pants because you have to get the slider all the way to the bottom and restart it on both sides of the zipper and then sew the zipper so the slider can't go off the bottom again.  I don't know if that makes sense but anyway, unless you can do some basic sewing, you probably won't be able to do it yourself.

  5. LOL this is what i do for a living. I work in STL,MO. take a pair of scissors and cut the bottom of the zipper, and the take the slider off and retrack on both sides so that it is even. THEN sew the zipper together. and bam your done. email me if you have problems and i can work you through it. thanks!

  6. The way I did recently (and it worked) was to use a screwdriver to gently pry apart the side of the slider that has come off the "tracks." Only open it up as much as is needed to put the teeth of the zipper back inside the slider.

Then take a pliers and gently squeeze the slider back together the same as it was before--Not all the way squeezed together.

Once you slide the zipper a few times, the teeth should be back in order.

  7. mine do that alot, but i dont fix them. i just get rid of the pants.

  8. ur teeth

  9. get some pliers and stick the zipper slider on the other side and then clamp it on, but if its like squished and u cant slide it ont he other side, use the pliers to open it back up, be carefull if you work with it too much it will break...
