Ever since I started growing my hair out its become more thicker and coarse which doesnt help me at all because I would like to have like thin smooth hair not coarse and thick which in my opinion I would only need for like spiking my hair, but I was wondering can you go to like a saloon and ask them to make your hair thinner or would that do nothing about the coarseness? if not is there anyway to make your hair less coarse

  1. I have many many many options that you can start doing WITHOUT paying the stylist to do it! Something you will need to do is stop adding excess damage to your hair! Some of these things could be: blowdrying, straightening, or curling on a daily basis. It puts alot of heat damage to your hair which IS NOT healthy for the protiens and nutrients that are NATUARLY in your hair. You will also need to stop using alot of product/chemicals on your hair (hairspray, gels, mousse, hair dye, highlights etc.) Also, something My mother taught me when I was young NOT to brush my hair while it was wet..I ALWAYS thought she was crazy until i grew up and found out WHY she told me that! If you normally brush your hair while it's wet...do it one night and see how much hair will fall and break off and put it to the side. The next night, wait until your hair dries NATURALLY (no blow drying) and THEN brush it out! (it might be hard...but something you can use to help the tangles is called "SILK THERAPY by BIOSILK" all you do is put a dime size amount (thats ALL you need I PROMISE i have hair to my waist and it is as thick as a lions mane!!) in your hand, and work into your hair straing from the ends to your roots...b/c there is more damage to your ends then your roots. Then brush your hair from THE BOTTOM OF YOUR HAIR UP! thats another place where ppl mess up...they brush there hair at the scalp with all those tangles and all it does is break more hair out! By doing that you work out all of the tangles and your head wont be sore afterwards! Now as far as the Salon goes...and having your hair thinned! My mother is a hairstylist and she does thin people hair out! You will need to  have a regualr trim first (to get the split ends off) first and then ask the stylist to "slither" your hair. Thats what we call in South GA but it might be something different where you live. Or you can just tell them you want it thinned...they should be able to do it. There are different ways to do it, but I have always had mine done with a razor...they take it down all of your hair ( i have layers, so all of my layers) and SLITHER it down to thin it out! I hope I have helped with you!
