How do I fix dry wall tape that has come loose between wall and ceiling?

  1. remove the existing tape, replace with hard inside corner bead (ask at the store) and fiberglass tape, mud, and finish to taste.


  2. Spackle under it & over it. Don't over do it.

  3. i fix for everything dry wall related is Spackle.

  4. Remove the section of tape that is loosen and reapply compound and new tape.

  5. tear the tape complete out on the affected section.  if its between the wall and the ceiling, crease the tape in the center.  First mud the area where the problem is.  Take the tape and embed the tape in the wet joint compound.  Take 4" putty knife and go over each side with joint compound.  do that twice more, sand and paint.

  6. cut the part that is lifting out completely, mud, apply new tape, another coat or two until smooth, then spot prime, then two coats of paint will make the repair invisible.
