How do I fix my camera?

Question

I accidentally droped my camera on my hardwood floor and the thing that comes out when you turn it on is like messed up and when I try taking a picture it won't work only viewing pictures. Can I fix the thing?

Don't know which make and model you talking about.

Unless it is under warranty, otherwise just buy a new one.

This has happened to me twice and if you can't push it in yourself then you have to send it to the camera company that made it to have it fixed. The information should be in you owners manual.

The short answer to your question is.... You don't fix it yourself.   Not possible.  You will only make things worse.   You really should take your camera into a camera repair shop.   Ask the repair tech for an evaluation of the damage and an estimate for the repairs.   Chances are,  he can fix it,  but you will have to leave it and he might just have to order the part that is broken.   If you try to mess with it yourself... and you make it worse...  you will only increase the amount of the repair charge.  The repair guy won't mind..... he makes more money from people who think they can fix their own cameras.   Seriously!!!  Thanks for reading.  Good luck with your camera.

Unfortunately, that is one of the most common problems of a digital camera. Most likely the sensor in it is "shot" and most likely need replacing which is going to cost more than the camera itself.  Lesson learn - expensive at that. The Olympus SW 850 has a better survivability when it comes to dropping - Shock proof and Water proof - and has a better chance of getting a your warranty for it. Your camera, unless you bought an accidental insurance (half the price of the camera at least), is not covered in its warranty.

Impossible to repair yourself!  Send it in for an estimate or buy a new one.
