I have a brown door, and door k***s on both sides but it has no lock. Anyway, I can't get it to shut securely, like I push it and it comes back.

  1. Check the hinges on the door AND on the jamb. Make sure the screws are tight and the hinge pins are not worn. It might possibly be that the house has settled, or shifted. You can also check the latch to see if it is working properly and aligned. Hopefully, one of these will solve your problem.

  2. First check if the door fits the frame properly.

Then check if the bolt, operated by the k***s, lines up properly.

It may not be going into the striker plate completely.

Either the plate will have to be moved vertically or horizontally.

You can unscrew the striker plate & reposition it slightly.

You may have to plug the existing s***w-holes with wood & glue.

Then reposition the plate & make new s***w-holes.

You can also shim the plate out with cardboard, to catch the bolt.
