I recently bought a halogen light for my fan, I put it in.. and it was very very dim. I put it in the same fan.. in another room, and it was 10 times brighter. Why is this? And could you tell me how to fix it. Thanks.

  1. Do you have a dimmer switch on that light?  Make sure you have it connected correctly by measuring across the connections you used with a voltmeter.  You should measure 120V AC.  It almost sounds like you connected it in series with the fan.

  2. Replace the lamp holder in the fan fixture. Either the contacts are loose, dirty or corroded.  When the socket is replaced, check all of the connections and be certain they are clean and tight.
