I have a 1990 Civic DX hatchback, but when I bought it the heating and cooling fan didn't work at all. It won't turn on and I don't know what's wrong with it. The car works perfectly. My civic didn't come with a/c and I'm not to worried about that, just mainly the heater.

  1. check and see if you have power to switch, also check fuse for heater,if you can, unhook wire at blower motor, see connectors are good, and see when switch is turned on that current is there.if it is easy to remove you can bench test blower motor, before you buy one,to make sure that is problem.

  2. First, check  and see if  the fuse  for  the blower fan   is good.  Also  make sure  the heating coils  are clean  and clear  so that  the water that  makes  the heat , flows  freely, you  can do  this by flushing  out  the coils. Other  wise replace  the blower if  the coil  is clear  and  the fuse  is good, and  the fan  still isn't working.

  3. my answer is try to check it out first on auto repair shop..,
