Question:

How do I fix my resolution?

I have a problem with the resolution on my Toshiba laptop A205.

I am using 1280x800 resolution

32bit colors

60Hertz refresh rate.

on a high def monitor ( I think.)

And Windows Vista.

My problem is that, whenever I go into a game, it will only be full screen if I set the resolution to 1280x800. Otherwise it will only be a %%% of the screen that 800x600. so its a small square of the game in the middle of my screen. with black all around it.

I was wondering if I could make it normal, so all resolutions in games are the whole screen or at least a square of the screen so it doesn't stretch sideways.

If you didn't get all that, basically my problem is that whenever I play a game, and the resolution is lower than mine, it shrinks the game into a small square into the middle of the screen with black all around it.

I was wondering if I could make that normal, so it would stretch across the screen. or whatever.

Thanks a whole bunch!!! 10 points to the most helpful even if it doesn't answer my question

  1. Check in game options it usually give the option of changing the game resolution I believe your is set to  the default one

  2. i dont think you can. i say this because you are asking it to display something at lower resolution at higher resolution. see any issues there?

  3. Change the game resolution. Next, try changing your screen resolution to match the game's lower resolution. This should at least fill your screen. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
