  1. I'm not quite sure.

But as long as it's still green on the inside it will grow back together if you hold it together with something.

  2. I agree with PerryN and bonabab above, but would add that maybe a good idea to put a good stout prop beneath it as well, to prevent too much rocking.

  3. Cut it off close to the trunk so the bark of the tree can heal around it do this by cutting a little from the bottom then the top to meet the bottom cut sorry.

  4. Use HERCULES PUTTY!!

  5. hey whatevers clever, its called mighty putty...lol

tie it up and use strong bolts to hold it together

  6. i know this might sound a little weird, but get a chain and wrap it around that tree limb and wrap it around the tree that way the stronger part of the tree will hold up the splitting branch...

  7. Many years ago we had a Mahogany tree split in half. We strapped it and pulled it back together, drilled a hole through it and secured it with a bolt, two fender washers and a nut. It grew back together and later we pulled the bolt out. It survived until I got tired of it constantly dropping trash in the pool.

    It's probably worth a try.

  8. I have fixed splitting limbs and trunks by drilling a hole through where the split is and bolting it. You need to try and pull as much of the split as possible back together. The tree will eventually grow around the bolt.
