Question:

How do I fix the kitchen lights so I don't have to use the switch box?

Several of the lights are somehow connected, where there is a small box with switches to control each light through an outlet. Each light can be turned on from a push button switch on the wall, but is controlled from the box (all on or off, dimming, etc.)

How can I get rid of this function, and put the regular light switches back on the wall, so they all operate individually?

( I prefer to do this myself rather than hire somebody)

  1. You should be able to remove the existing switches one at a time and replace them with standard light switches.  Not a difficult job, just pay attention to where each wire goes.  Turn off the power at the circuit breaker panel first.
