Question:

How do I fix this draft mistake?

Although I have played fantasy football for 5 years, this was my first time in a live draft, and I admit that I panicked under the pressure of a 90 second time limit. My other leagues have had autopick drafts. I feel that I am pretty weak at WR. But you tell me. I am in a standard yahoo league (no PPR). Here is my squad:

QB: Donovan McNabb & Matt Schaub

RB: Brian Westbrook, Michael Turner, Earnest Graham, Warrick Dunn

WR: Braylon Edwards, Jerricho Cotchery, Kevin Curtis, Reggie Brown, Donte Stallworth, Jabar Gaffney

TE: Kellen Winslow

DEF: Pittsburgh

K: Rob Bironas

Thanks for your input!

  1. i would agree with your assessment of your WR.  Edwards is a stud but the other guys are all either waiver wire guys or 3rd recievers.  i like your running backs except for dunn.  i think you can find a better upside RB than Dunn.  mcnabb & schaub are both quality QB's so you should be fine there.  Winslow is a great player as long as he is healthy.

  2. With the players you drafted I'm assuming this is a 12 team league? I like your RB's besides Warrick Dunn which is a waiver wire for sure. After Cotchery I would say you are very week at the WR position not sure I would even trust Cotchery as a #2 guy just yet. Donavan McNabb is a risk reward and Matt Schaub is as well. I like your TE alot could care less about a defense or kicker. I would probably just wait and see how the first couple of weeks goes. Winslow is like having another WR at the TE spot. Westbrook/Turner could be very good and Braylon is a Stud. I would hope that Graham does well for you and maybe that is where you can upgrade at WR with a trade involving Graham.

  3. First of all Folgaz what have you been smoking? Graham is not going to be sharing carries with Dunn and Turner has proven himself to be a quality back already. He could have started at SD if it wasn't for the best RB in the NFL in front of him. He will do just fine in Atlanta. Cotchery is a #3 WR at best. I would definately look at upgrading at the WR position and Graham should get you a decent #2.

  4. You've got a pretty solid team. I think you're weaker at the RB position than WR. Turner is unproven and plays on a weak offensive team. Graham and Dunn might share carries with Graham getting the red zone touches. You've got two nice receivers in Edwards and Cotchery. Does your league run 2 RB, 2 WR and a RB/WR flex, or, 2 RB and 3 WR? Either way, you're going to have a tough time deciding who to start at your #2 RB position. Good luck!
