How do I format this hard drive?

Question

It wont boot up the OS, and I don't want to connect it as a slave to my other HDD, because you know... It'll infect that one to. So...... what do I do?

inserting your xp disk and going through the setup should give you formating options

if you can get it to run comand prompt type:

Format C: /u

Use a bootable OS like Knoppix (a standalone version linux run from the cdrom only), here is a page that describes how to recover using various methods
