That is what the room looks like from the ceiling. Any ideas on where I should put the furniture? I watch the TV on the top half and have the bottom half with another sofa, computer and some other things.

It isit that big and I don't like the fireplace/chimney brest.

It would help if you edited the picture, to put the things in, but it isn't necessary.

Thanks in advance

  1. the part by the fireplace could look like this. *not necessarily decorated like this..just an idea for furniture placement*

Put a sofa table behind the sofa and put a lamp on it ..maybe some books..

or switch the sofa and chairs to have the chairs in the window and the sofa more in the middle of the room to make it more into an intimate space rather than open to the rest of the room.

You should make a shelf of some sort to put over the radiator. or you can put some sort of a table, like this

you can put a tv on top of there..that way..if you want to enjoy the fire you can, or if you want to watch tv, just turn to the other side.. presto.

the other half should be an office or a living room. I dont think you should have both

If its more like a business office..do something like this

putting the desk away from the wall takes up floor space, allows you to see the room as opposed to having your back to the room. Two chairs in front your desk, if you have company while you work..they can sit there and visit you..

if its more creative work.. i would imagine something more like this
