How do I gain a parakeets trust? am i doing it wrong?

i got a parakeet, and everyday since i got it, ive been sticking my hand in there slowly, and then letting it sit there for like 10 minutes. one day i even did it for 20 minutes, its been 6 days, am i doing something wrong? any tips?

nope your doing good talk to it like a baby whistle to it while your doing it try feeding it treats stuff like that.soon it should be coming on your hand good luck!!

it will take a year at least for them to get completely comfortable. you dont need to hold your hand in the cage so long, just make sure you dont make any sudden movements when trying to catch the budgie. it will take time but when they are friendly they are soo sweet.

have you tried letting it out so that it comes to you or he may just be unsoshal trie to find out wat his favorit food is and bribe him
