I need to play Volleyball in college; [it's a deeply embedded passion]. I consulted the coach and she saw my record and was impressed, she saw a tape of a game that I played and said that I was great! But there was one problem...

The weight requirement.

Now; Volleyball season doesn't start until December. So I have some time.

I'm 135lbs. && in order to play I need to be 150lbs. [omg...thats a lot.]

Offer as many suggestions as possible please. I NEED the help.

Thank you so much =]

  1. Well, aside from my personal disgust with their being weight limits on a sport (its BS, why cant we weight less than that???)...

I suggest eating proper foods for gaining weight, and working out those muscles. Muscle weights more than fat, and your better off gaining that weight in muscle! Plus, hit the ball harder, play harder if your stronger right?

  2. wow that horrible.  i mean, depending on your height that can be considered overweight!  i know for me at 5'5 that just about the hit the overweight mark!

but yeah, try gainning muscle, it weighs more than fat.  so do strength training stuff, maybe some weight lifting

  3. go to McDonald's and get a super sized meal with a big mac

  4. there are some good answers, amount carb loading and stuff. I would say dont go for food like Macdonald's cause you are just going to get sick with that much useless fat. carb load, and ask the coach about her suggestions.

  5. The best thing to do as most mentioned is to work out, but slack off on the cardio, still do some to keep your respiratory system healthy and stamina up, but maybe cut the time you normally do it in half. Then go to your local grocery store such as kroger or walmart and pick up lots of protein pack goodies, some creatin, and some whey protein powder, get in the gym 5 days a week at least 45 mins to 1 1/2 hours a day, spending most of the time your in there strength training, and by strength training I mean lifting weights, keep adding weight as you go don't just do 100 reps of weight you can lift easily, try doing enough weight to where you can only do 6-8 reps, once you get to where 10 reps is not a problem bump the weight up. Stick to the high protein diet (eat several times a day around 4 or 5) drink the whey protein and creatin powders and hit the gym hard and you will be gaining weight in no time, plus it will be muscle mass so you will probably be able to kick most of your guy friends butts lol, good luck to you.

  6. muscle weighs more than fat

    :]

  7. Work out.  Muscle weighs more than fat.

  8. Go to a health store or even possibly just the grocery store and go to the health food isle and look  for lar-a-d bars its a weight gain bar or you can always go to the front to ask an assitstant

  9. It's not super healthy, but I dated a wrestler in college and whenever he needed to top out of a class he would carb load.  This means eating tons of pasta, bread, pizza, potatoes, etc.  He would eat 5-6 meals a day and eat (literally) a bowl of pasta, 3 slices of pizza, and a plate of mashed potatoes.  It worked for him... (and no he didn't do steriods...I would have known - there's a physical reason I would have known).

  10. Get some muscles.

  11. What the h**l, 150 pounds is alot for female athletes to need to weigh.

    Im a guy and I weigh 140 :(, but im only 14.

    I suggest eating lead.

  12. eat carbs.  and high protein foods..  to help you build muscle and  highten your calorie  intake!     if you want to gain weight do it healthy..  so  try working on building muscle mass like weight training.

  13. I think the best way is to gain muscle. Eat a lot of protein, such as, meat and fish. I'm sure that will help. Good luck!

  14. There is some vanilla and chocolate flavored powder you can buy that comes in a big tub, and it is supposed to help you gain muscle and weight as long as you work out alot.
