How do I get AIM on my blackberry pearl?

I just bought a blackberry pearl 8110 from AT&T (cingular), but i didn't get a data or internet package.. is there a way to somehow get AIM on my phone for free?

And being on AIM counts as texts, not data, right?

The default IM app for blackberry does use text msgs, yes.

If you get a dataplan then you can use that instead. Several apps exist but most are not free yet inexpensive. Try jivetalk if you get such a plan.

aim is an instant messenger which means it uses data so you cant use it for free unless you have a data plan and as for how to get it , you would go to aol.com from your blackberry and download onto your phone but youll need a data plan
