I clicked on a "update your antivirus" bubble that popped up. It ended up not being my program (I have AVG) Now I have downloaded an ad that keeps popping up every time I go to a new page or website. It has taken over my computer. It's called Internet Antivirus. When you click on any of the pop ups it goes to their ad to by softward for $49.99. I have looked every where on my computer programs, cookies everywhere and can not find where this is to delete it off my computer.

What is it and How do i get rid of it !!! Please help.

  1. Looks like you have been infected by something nasty called Smitfraud/Zlob.

To help your situation and restore your computer back to a clean state, I HIGHLY suggest you use ParasiteDB Disinfection Service:

    http://parasitedb.com/removal.html

They are good, cheap and reliable, and will give you a full refund if you do not get your problems solved.

Most conventional anti-virus programs are bad at virus removal. Trust me on that.

Let me know how it goes!

  2. If you have a Windows XP or Vista computer, you could try a System Restore for a restore point before you accidentally installed that program.  A program called Lavasoft Ad-Aware could help, maybe Threatfire antivirus, both free downloads.

If all else fails, format the hard drive and reinstall your OS.  Only way to be sure.

  3. Try Ad Muncher.

  4. Spyware begone.com or McAfee. Both are spyware removal tools. Spyware  begone cost you only once and updates often.Paid for it five years ago and it catches what McAfee dosent. McAfee is only good for 1-2years then requires more money. Or go into C drive and find the spyware you downloaded, delete it and clean disk and defrag. Restart after and see.

  5. run this

  6. Use a program called "Hijack This" which you can download from www.majorgeeks.com if i m not mistaken. Run this program and identify the spyware files. then try to remove it. Else use anti-spyware programs.. If you use it skillfully this "Hijack This", it will help remove it. Trust me All the best
