How do I get Better at Guitar?

Question

Im 14 and been playing since i was maybe 11. Ive gotten to the point where I can play the through most of the song but i cant play all of it. Im really stuck and cant get any father on songs. Any advice how to get through the song and get better?

Here is some of what i can play but not the whole thing

take lessons. i hate peaple that dont take lessons and just use tabs. if u cant read music ur not qualafied a a musician. wall any way take lessons

One word: Lessons.

I HIGHLY recommend it. And it works. That is, if you have a good teacher. Those are hard to find nowadays unfortunately. But when you have a good teacher, you'll progress faster and learn a lot more than you have in the last 3 1/2 years (if I'm correct) teaching yourself.

practice, practice, practice,

you can't get enough practice. Sometimes what I do is if I have tthe song on my Ipod I would put one ear bud on and play guitar during the song im trying to learn to play and once you get the hang of it and memorize the song you can play without the Ipod or whatever and play better than before
