How do I get Bitpim to work with the LG Voyager new firmware?

I just upgraded to firmware version 9, and I can't get Bitpim to work correctly. I set it manually to the Dare, and now the phonebook gets transferred to the computer correctly, but my SMS won't transfer over, neither the inbox nor outbox.

Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

I encountered the same problem when I updated my Voyager earlier today. After searching around the forums on www.voyager-lg.com I found that if you go under Settings and tell BitPim to look for the LG-Dare (LG-VX9700) it will be able to get the data off your phone since both phones use the same firmware.
