I filled out the character sheet and everything but where do I get a figure? And where can I get more battle grids? Can anyone name a site where I can get all this info?

  1. Try Paizo.com

  2. D&D has a line of collectible plastic miniatures; they are very nice quality, and come prepainted, but they are randomly packaged, so it can be hard to get the exact figure you want.  However, many of the minis are extremely inexpensive on ebay and online stores.  There's a good variety, so you might be able to find something that looks right.  Try: http://store02.prostores.com/servlet/aug...

Reaper Miniatures makes a huge range of metal miniatures; its likely you can find something good.  Check out:

If you get into the miniature modeling hobby, you can learn to modify figures; trimming them, adding modeling putty and generally reworking them to make a truly unique figure.  That's a lot of work, but it can be a fun hobby in itself!

    For battle grids:

There are several D&D products, the Fantastic Locations line, which includes nice full color maps for a variety of settings.  Each pack is about $15 and includes two double sided maps, and a simple adventure featuring the locations.

At many hobby shops you can find dry erase rollout mats marked with a variety of grids, including 1" squares (perfect for D&D).  You can use dry erase markers to draw on these and create any battleground you need.

However, D&D is primarily a game of the imagination.  While the combat grids and minis can be helpful and fun for battles, they should never constrain you.  Your mini doesn't need to be perfect, as long as you can tell which one represents your character.  Feel free to substitute one mini for another.  Or use dice and pennies instead of minis.  Or just play some fights without minis entirely and let your and the other player's imagination carry the action!

    Have fun gaming!

  3. There are numerous companies out there that make figurines for use in Dungeons & Dragons. One of the best in my opinion is reapermini.com They have tons of figures and you might be able to find one that closely resembles your character. However, all the figures are made of metal and not painted. That is part of the hobby aspect.
