I installed Ubuntu 8.04 with Wubi on a Vista PC and Ubuntu would not connect to the Internet automatically. So I manually entered all my network's info. It still wouldn't work. Can anyone help me?

  1. Are you connected directly to a modem? I connect mine to a router, and it connects flawlessly without me helping it even once.

That's my best guess right now...

  2. Wired or wireless?  (You might need ndiswrapper if it's wireless.)

  3. Open a terminal and type this:

su (It will ask for a your root password)

    ifconfig eth0 down

    dhclient

    exit

ping 4.2.2.2 (If you get a response, it works)
