How do I get Yahoo to cancel my mobile alerts?

OK, I know thi issue has been posted before, but Yahoo must have changed something on their end. I have been trying to get Yahoo to stop sending double alerts for emails to my phone for 2 years or more. Actually it was more because it started with my previous mobile carrier, who I cancelled 2 years ago. I select cancel all alerts, and am brought to a page that says "Because many phone companies recycle phone numbers, it is possible for users who purchase a new phone to receive alerts that the previous owner had subscribed to. Since your phone has an email address that anyone can send a message to, Yahoo! can only stop alerts that it manages. Only your carrier can prevent all messages from being delivered to your device. Please contact Customer Care to cancel Yahoo! Alerts." I actually did respond to them, but they have done nothing. I did have a rule on my mailbox for the alerts which I deleed, but I'm still getting the alerts. Their statement is a bunch of bunk anyway.

  1. Have you tried calling Yahoo customer care to see if they can cancel the alerts for you, rather than get an e-mail stating what you said?  I recommend you try that.

  2. 1. You should sign into ur yahoo account, and set ur preferences status to off or on for the yahoo alerts function.

    2. If it still happen, still have last chance, is to completely delete your alert account, this should make it work for you, remember once it deleted, u can't go back to retrieve it.  So u do a back up including addresses,  important data you kept.
