  1. If the stain hasn't set, soak the area with something like Resolve stain remover, then dab it dry. Alternately, you could try oxy-clean: I have successfully used that on a number of stubborn stains.

    Good luck!

  2. First try Oxyclean purchased at any store.  Then try 1T ammonia in a cup of water and scrub gently with a brush.

  3. The only way I know that would REALLY do it would be to buy Goop Brand Hand Cleaner - it is sold for cleaning greasing mechanics hands and is on line and also in some grocery and auto parts stores.

Just rub it in - and cover with a plastic bag - let sit over night and then take an old towel and mop it up - then flood with water- pour it from a glass and then mop it again.  Repeat until stain is gone.  Once stain is gone take some spray on carpet cleaner and get the lanolin from the Goop out of the carpet or it can attract dirt in that spot.  May take several days of applications but it has worked for me on some totally unreal stains!  _Ink pen broke in dryer and had ink all over white sweaters - after Goop you could not tell they had ever been stained and they were SO bad!  Also Goop will not harm anything because it is lanolin based.
